I'm Callum , AKA Xphorik . Im an upcoming expermental electronic music producer, i focus more on euphoric sounding music, and one of my main genres would be liquid drum & bass.

I have always had a strong passion for music and a flowing burst of  creativity .

I often create my own samples from walks (Near Field Recording) I love this as they are completely unique samples that nobody else in the world has, it also give me the creative freedom to use anything, turn a rock being thrown into a river into s snare drum. there are endless possibilities.

I also love nature and walks, i also create my own music videos, using footage i've recorded on my travels, this can be videos, images, or a time-lapse .

 Other than producing/composing music, I enjoy spending my time in nature, going on adventures, walks, and wild swimming. I love recording footage of my travels which I use to make my music videos. I am a drummer and am currently in two bands, Platform Zero, and Empire Of Lights, If you have time make sure to check us out on Spotify, YouTube And Soundcloud.

I have so many musical influences, but if I had to pick three for electronic music and three for everything else. I would probably pick Camo & Krooked (I love their unique style of music) Eckle, and Illenium as I feel these artists have been very influential on my music.

 

For everything else, I would say Muse, Ocean Alley and Kings Of Leon.

 

My Favourite subjects are Science, Music, Music-Tech and Psychology. I’ve always been interested in physics preferring to read fact books physics and non-fiction as I grew up, science has always been an interesting subject for me, I love questioning things and finding out more about how the universe works.

Lately the part of physics that interests me the most is the science of sound, how vibrations/frequencies make up the world. And how we can use these to design equipment to heal for example x-ray machines for the NHS , or discover how animals communicate through sub-audible tones, I find waveforms and frequency really interesting.

 

Psychology – Psychology is a massive interest to me, and always has been, I love how fascinating the human mind is, and am interested in the psychology of sound, how the human mind interprets music, how music helps through tough times etc.

 

And music, I’ve always loved music, since I can remember I’ve been composing songs in my head, tapping beats on the table and annoying everyone in school ha-ha, I first started producing when I was 12 this is also when I had my first drum kit, ever since then I have been producing music (using FL Studio) I applied for Music Technology Level-2 B-TEC when I left school , and am currently studying a Level 3 -B-TEC In Music Production in Cardiff.

 

I would love to combine these three subjects into my main career path by studying acoustics in university. Acoustics is essentially the Psychology, and Physics of sound this would be an amazing career choice for me, I would specifically love to be a marine acoustician which studying acoustics will set me on the right path for this career. A marine acoustician essentially studies how marine life communicates using sub audible tones, finding out about how animals use things like sonar to find things in their path rather than using eyes. And studying the acoustics of the ocean and ocean life.

 

I am also aiming to set myself up as a freelance music producer/sound engineer.

 

So far on my music journey I am in 2 bands (Drummer), which are fairly successful I am playing a festival this weekend Saturday the 24th September with one of the bands “Empire Of Lights” I am also currently producing an original song (Electronic Music) which I have wrote lyrics for and composed the song, I have hired a vocalist to sing the lyrics for me and am in the final stages of production for this, I am also in the process of producing a remix which is also nearly finished my electronic music is under the name “Xphorik” which is a twist on euphoric as I feel this is what sums up my music.

I am in the process of creating a music video for my original “A Soul Rediscovered” Which is about someone that has regained all their emotions after blocking them out for such a long time, and rediscovering their soul, and realising it never left them.

This is a very enjoyable project.

And am also in the process of writing an EP.

 

 

 

I would say I’m a talented Drummer, and producer, I recently helped a friend record an original she wrote, decent at mixing and mastering, I have good creative skills, have made animations, and am familiar with video editing software, special effects, and recording videos, I make my own music videos by using footage I record on my travels/walks and am always keen to learn different skills, and try out new things.

 

So far I have completed my PADI Scuba Diving Course and applied for mathematics as this is one step closer to my dream job as a marine acoustician.
