This is a quick update on what I have been working on today now I have the vocals. I have been working on the final touches to my song, and also working with the vocals ( The vocals arrived late, and arrived today ) so I might be slightly behind on my schedule, but this shouldn't be too much of a problem. I really like the vocals and am happy with what she did with my lyrics. she drew out the part that says "It won't always be frightening" and it's perfect for the drop.

I plan to chop it up and use it for vocal chops in the drop. Today I worked on the mix of my song, and also added some effects on my vocals I practised using a reverse reverb which is a really nice effect it makes the vocals sound like they are rising. And also changed the pitch on some of the harmonies. I have been watching tutorials on YouTube to look into how to achieve the vocals like they are in future bass, it sounds like it's been distorted with the pitch-bent down but I can't seem to figure out how to get that perfect sound. This is something I am going to work on for the rest of the week.

These are two videos of me adding reverse reverb and some vocal effects and testing out what I can do with the vocals, and getting some ideas.

I think learning how to properly produce, edit and mix vocals is an essential skill I need to learn for my future career aspiration, if I was a professional producer producing tracks for Beyonce or something, I would need lots of knowledge on vocal processing. this is what I'll be doing for the rest of the week. And tweaking the vocals until they sound how I want them to. To do this I am going to use YouTube and also google, I am also going to read my book on mixing as this might be helpful to gain extra skills for mixing the song, and the vocals.

This is a rough edit of the song with vocals with the reverse reverb and some effects, this will be improved on this week. it is sounding good although it could be better.

I want to mix the song properly as it sounds kind of muddy at the moment and perfect it.

I want to modify the reverse reverb I have put on the vocals, as well as learn how to use a sidechain as an effect on the volume or cutoff in on the drop, by creating a muted kick drum and sidechaining it so whenever the kick hits, it cuts out the bass, and you can choose where the bass plays and cuts out more precisely. I also want to create some vocal chops for the drop, mess about and cut up the vocals and add effects to create some extra elements to the track. I also want the vocals to sound like future bass vocals like Illenium does so I need to look up how to do that. I also want to sidechain compress the drums so they stand out. And also have a pitched-down version of the vocals in some parts. but I want to do it in a specific style so I'll have to learn this.

Overall though I am happy with how it's turned out so far.

in conclusion, I am really happy with the vocals and am looking forward to learning how to edit and mix them to how I want to, as this is what I'd hoped for with this track if worst comes to worst and I haven't managed to learn these skills and apply them in time, I think the track is very good, and I'm probably being a bit of a perfectionist. But I am aiming to get this done this week. overall I have learnt some new vocal processing techniques which is a useful skill. I aim by the end of the week to have this track finished and mixed. ready to be mastered at a later date, and I can work on one of my instrumental tracks for my project, and also start writing the vocals to my second track.
